Saw The Accountant this week thanks to United Airlines.  It's a good Grisham-style thriller though it had a bit too many far-reaching plot-twists to be believable.

My son got a Hitchcock 5-pack for his birthday, so he and I have been on a serial film appreciation binge this week.

Monday - Vertigo
Tuesday - Psycho
Wednesday - The Birds

That leaves North by Northwest, and Rear Window.  I had only previously seen Rear Window before.  Enjoyed all of them so far but the ending of The Birds left me with the question unanswered.  Why did they attack like that?

I love Rear Window. The Raymond Burr character is chilling - when Perry Mason goes bad.

I saw the original Thomas Crown Affair last night OnDemand. Very 60's atmosphere with split screen and camera angles that were apparently quite avant garde for the time. The chess scene shows that a movie can have a smoking hot sex scene with everyone remaining fully clothed.

Lloyd does a hybrid Rev. Jim character.       I was watchin' the previews and two things jumped out at me.     One was Goldie Hawn is still alive.    Secondly, they're having a re-release of The Graduate.     Fiftieth anniversary   ...

I think I've seen Straight Outta Compton start to finish about six times now. Absolute must watch even if you're not a fan of hip hop. Personally I grew up on NWA and Eazy E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube etc. so I love it.

1. I don't like hip hop.
2. I don't like what the n in nwa stands for
3. I don't like what Dr. Dre did.

While the movie was good it wasn't nearly as good as the book. Nice tear jerker none the less. And it makes you appreciate your own little Fido even more, especially when she's 14.

How is it Memorial Day Weekend and there is not a single movie out that I want to see?

I did just hear about this one, after listening to a podcast about the Pentagon Papers a couple months ago I think this is going to be riveting and I'm already dying to see it.

Included in today's Turner Classic Movies (TCM) Memorial Day movies:

Kelly's Heroes (1970) at noon ET. Stars Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, Carroll O'Connor, and Donald Sutherland, with secondary roles played by Harry Dean Stanton, Gavin MacLeod, and Stuart Margolin.

I'm totally confused by the plot in Wonder Woman

I was under the impression that WW's experiences in WWI left her apathetic towards humanity. But at the end, it seemed like her experiences made her care more.

I'm curious as to what she was doing WW2-present day as it certainly was implied she wasn't involved with the wars of man till Batman/Superman showed up.

Movie takes place in WWI

But yes, that is what confused me. In BvS, she says, "A hundred years ago I walked away from mankind. A century full of horrors. Mankind made a world where standing together is impossible."

The end of the movie leaves me with the distinct opposite impression. So what the duck happened between the end of WW and BvS that led to that statement?

Snyder directed BvS and wrote WW

It irks me because it's so blatent. The movie is well written and acted, if somewhat cheesy. Its well shot and well choreographed. Its a good movie with a blatant plot whole.

Right... which is why I'm curious what she was doing from WW2-BvS... I guess just chilling out in France as a normal person?
