I read this, but my brain changed 'wintry mix' to 'frothy mix'. I was like, 'whoa dude, what do you have planned later'!

Every time I hear wintery mix, I am disapointed. It sounds like it should be some kind of mixed bag of chocolate and mint covered nuts in seasonal packaging not slick crap that makes your car slide around and turns black with auto fumes.

Ugh!! My wife has to take one of her clients, she works with the developmentally disabled, to an appointment at Hopkins this evening at 5pm. She's gonna end up trapped down there tonight. Gonna suck big time. She'll probably be driving her Trailblazer, but still, 4wd is useless on ice.

:smh: how do people forget how to drive in the snow EVERY DAMN YEAR!?

Lesson 1:  AWD does not help you go around turns at full speed as if it were dry.

Lesson 2:  AWD does not mean floor it to get started.

Subbies and SUVs skidding and spinning all 4 wheels e'rywhere out here.  Meanwhile, my little FWD hatchback just happily plugs along with no spin whatsoever.

Yeah people are idiots here, never understand them. Then again a lot come from warmer climates or areas where snow stays snow and doesn't melt and freeze to ice.

Wow what a nag to get this ice of the driveway. I have a really long, steep driveway, it took forever just to clear a path down it. I hurt my lower back this past week so that hasn't helped.

It will get up to 34 this afternoon, and chance some of this melts for me?

Probably not without any sunshine.

In my hood, the main road was salted and fine.  Side roads were patchy.  I didn't have the TCS come on in my car but I could feel that there was very little traction and the steering felt loose.  ABS came on at 2 stops.

Of course this is at the Gateway to the Mountains, don't know about south near DC and in VA.

I doubt there's anything going on here in the D.C area. My school system didn't close (which they usually do by 4:30 if something is wrong), so I highly doubt the college does, FML. Glad I decided to close my eyes at 3am just in case this happened. Lucky federal employees not having to head in till around 9, believe the offices open at 11.

Today should be interesting, riding out on the mean streets of the Danger Zone® on my commuter bike in about an hour.

About to head out, go to my college site and check. "ALERT" at the top of the website. Get mad happy! Click it, "opening as regularly scheduled." What a bunch of goons. What is the point of even doing that if you're opening on time?

given i stayed up to watch the Zimm walk-off against the yankees last night, the 2 hour delay was welcome (and i didn't have my first call until 10 AM).

I'm really happy this winter has been so mild.  It's gotten me somewhat used to wearing dress clothes while biking in traffic and the sweating and leg cramps associated with it.  Can't wait 'til this summer when I'm sweating like a whore in church while biking to watch the Nasty Nats beat azz.

Some chick at my old rental office tried to tell me that the winter was going to be horrible because the summer was so mild. She gave this condescending talk about how long she had lived in the area, and how she understood the weather patterns or something.

What a donk, JP.
