Nolan Reimold had to exit Friday's game after being hit in the face by a pitch from the Rays' Alex Cobb.Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun says it looked like the pitch hit Reimold on the left temple area. The outfielder got to his feet under his own power but was then taken off the field on a cart. We'll provide an update on his status when more is known. Reimold is slated to open the season as the Orioles left fielder.

Chipper says his knee is hurting more than he expected and he's not sure he can make it through this year:http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog/2012/03/12/chipper-i-dont-know-if-i-can-make-it-through-this-year/?cxntfid=blogs_atlanta_braves_blog
Chipper Jones, future Hall of Famer, suggested he doesn't have too much more time left as a major-league baseball player. Scouts who have seen him this spring would agree."He looks terrible,'' one National League scout said.Jones has looked so bad, in fact, that it probably doesn't take an expert opinion to understand this. He is 0-for-8 and has missed five games with leg soreness. One good thing about Jones is that he is far from delusional. He understands what's going on. "The body is starting to tell me every day when I wake up that (retirement) is getting close,'' Jones told writers, including David O'Brien of tha Atlanta Journal-Constitution, today. "I'm signed through the end of this year. If I play in a certain amount of hames, I get an option for next year. I don't know what next year entails ... I don't know if I can make it through this year.''He has $14 million worth of reasons in the form of guaranteed money to make it through this year. But it's hard to see him getting the 123 games that would vest and bump next year's option to $9 million. If he doesn't reach 123 games, the Braves have the option at $7 million.Right now it's hard to see other side happily agreeing to a second season for Jones. Even this year doesn't look so solid the way it's going now.
And how'd we do that regular season?
Wait, when did Matt Kemp get to run with the "Beast Mode" thing?
Goddamn do I hope that Pronk is really back. He'll probably never be 2006 Pronk again, but I'd take a 30 HR and .400+ OBP Pronk any day of the week.
From your keyboard to JoBu's ears.I don't think his shoulder testing will ever let him be the bull he once was, though, sadly.
