StanK in on Dodgers bid
« Topic Start: December 02, 2011, 01:41:00 PM »
Looks like he is joining a group with Magic Johnson with the Plan to assume the same role as he had with the Nats.

He quit the position, it's unusual that Cots has this wrong as they are on top of the status for each all of our players.

He was on MLB Hot Stove last night and praised the Marlins for opening their stadium the right way by spending money to put on an interesting, contending team.  He said that once you get someone to buy season tickets, they usually stay 3 - 4 years, so if you pump up attendance when you open your stadium and sell a lot of season tickets, it can pay for much of the contract of your FAs.

I was in shock.

Two nights ago he was stressing that the Mets have to communicate their plan with the fans. Not sure which teams' fans he was referring to.

What an assclown.

from MLB Network Radio just now: "According to sources, the Dodgers will be sold to the ownership group led by Magic Johnson and Stan Kasten."  Giants fans can expect their invitation to Dodger Stadium any day now...

Bought it for two BILLION dollars.

McCourt makes out like a bandit.

Five times as much what he paid for it. Makes me sick.

That's without the parking lots, which are another $300M.

Have they been able to set aside some of the conveyances of dodger assets into the financing shells McCourt set up?  $2B for the package McCourt bought originally miight be reasonable, but $2B stripped of the parking, tickets, and TV revenuws and stripped of the real estate would seem crazy.

The TV Revenue is part of the package, that's already been decided by the bankruptcy judge.

Blue - makes sense. When I said conveyances, I was specificaly thinking of fraudulent conveyances that a bankruptcy judge can set aside, but I'm not really a bankruptcy jock anymore and am not up on that area of the law.

If you ask the Court of Appreals for the 5th Circuit, they might not think I'm up on the area of law I do practice in.
