As long as you're cool with sending him straight to get TJ... then yes, I think it's actually a good idea.

Would not be upset, even if that was the case. Worked out well for Nick Adenhart(RIP). Of course, thats only if we can get him within relative reason. Can't break kill the entire draft just for him.

Cecchini sounds like an R&B singer when they're just talking to reporters.

Bet - guy the Nats draft will cite Harper in his interview on MLB immediately after the pick is announced.

This after seeing Cecchini waxing poetic about the Mets.      :lmao:

Scumbag Bowman. Lincecum was drafted 10th overall the time he actually signed.

HSer that throws upper 90's, went 100 a few times. Sprained his UCL, won't pitch off a mound again until after the draft.

stud HS righty.  upper 90'2 fastball with a plus curve.  major league body at like 6'5" 230 lbs.  did something to his elbow and couldn't pitch this season.

BP:
Quote
2. Lucas Giolito, RHP, Harvard-Westlake HS (CA)
Who he is: Among the best high school righties in recent memory, as he has everything scouts look for. He's 6-foot-6 with long levers, throws in the mid-to-upper 90s while touching 100, and he's much more than just a pure arm, as many teams also saw his power curveball as one of if not the best breaking ball in the draft. He also has an advanced changeup for his age.
Draft skinny: Giolito is the biggest enigma in the draft after an elbow injury shut him down in March. While there is no structural damage, he's only to the point of throwing off flat ground, and his UCLA commitment is considered stronger than ever because he had a chance to be the first high school right-hander ever taken at No. 1 overall before the injury, and teams assumed he'll still want to be paid like one. If he goes in the top five picks, I will not be shocked. If nobody touches him in the first round due to signability fears, I will not be surprised.

(Order predicted to be selected)
12. New York Mets ($2.55M): Lucas Giolito, RHP, Harvard-Westlake HS (CA)
Forty-eight hours ago, I would have done a mock without Giolito, but he suddenly has a number of rumored landing spots, beginning with New York, who seem to be definitely at least kicking the tires on the draft's biggest wild card. He's a tough sign here, an even tougher one later, but the Mets are rumored to be making another splash. If they get cold feet today, they could go in a number of directions, all of them high school-based, and in particular Corey Seager, Cecchini and another possible difficult sign in Lance McCullers.

He hasn't been taken yet, he's on the short list for me too.  But he lacks Rizzo beef.

Maybe don't do back flips until after you get that signing bonus.

This sounds racist(?) but I'm so happy to see so many black players being drafted early.

Baseball desperately needs blacks to come back towards the game. Hopefully with more stars in the pipeline... things will start happening!
