I don't think I've worn jeans in over a decade.

It all depends on what I've been doing, but generally I'll wear them 2 or 3 times before I wash them, but they don't go back in the drawer prior to washing. Usually they'll lay wherever I left them till they are worn again. If it's dark's time, they'll get washed. I've never noticed any issues in them wearing out from washing them.

i heard a story on the radio this morning that Levi Strauss is starting a program to reduce water use associated with their jeans - both in manufacturing and by educating consumers to go longer between washings.  They are seeing rising manufacturing costs as water becomes scarcer in some regions.

I've never liked jeans for some reason.  Until last week I also wore a black Ralph Lauren Polo shirt and a pair of khakis everyday so that might have something to do with it.

Here's something, I didn't know you were supposed to wash your jeans inside out...

you can use cold water too- tide insists 'cold' formula will get stuff just as clean. We use cold cycles out of cheapness, but it also helps clothes last longer

I wash almost everything in cold water, so that's nothing new.  But I just bought a couple new pairs of jeans and the tags said to wash them inside out.  I'd never heard that before.  It's also the most comment generating facebook status I've had in a while...

I'm too lazy to turn them inside out to wash them. I have heard it though.

My aunt said almost the exact same thing...

I wash my jeans right side out, because I'm a rebel.

No, that's because you put them on that way.

Why are you telling us this ?  Isn't this more information than we need to know ?

I wash almost everything inside out. Clothes last *much* longer that way, particularly collared dress shirts.

It's usually a good idea to wash jeans when they are full.

That seems a bit excessive.

Once a week of regular wear seems about right to me.

Same here. My GF and I usually do our heavy laundry on Sundays, so that is when they get washed. I do hate that they are tighter after coming out of the dryer. It takes an hour or so for them to fit right again.

Back in the day, the thing to do was to put them on wet so they would shrink tight to your tush skin.

The jeans I wore this weekend have mustard stains on them from the 9/6 Strasmas II game.

Washed them last night, so I'm wearing a clean pair now.

I now wish I had marked mine prior to the Strasburg game, obviously they weren't clean at the time, but there is no telling just how long they had gone without washing.

Rode the bike last weekend and I realized they needed washed.    Couldn't move my legs to shift gears.   It was all foot action.

Wait, you wore jeans to ride a bike?
