But who bought them? That franchise simply cannot have 20,000 season ticket holders...and earlier in the season there were several fixtures (including two on our first visit down there) that drew less than 11k. They must be selling super-deep-discount tickets that people end up not using...or handing out lots of freebies that they include in their attendance totals (does MLB allow this?)...or something...how else does one explain what must have been a no-show rate of over 90%?
The announced attendance figures are done in accordance with standard industry practice and are subject to audit review, so I think we're pretty safe in assuming that the figures are reported consistent with those of other teams. And yes, there was a pretty horrific no-show rate.
