Oh, yeah, had a great time.  Crowd was a little late arriving.  Face off was moved up for TV and I think that hurt getting the place full for the start.  It was pretty full by the start of the 2nd  period.  They announced attendance of over 16k.  Largest attendance in the history of the program.  Start of the 3rd was crazy, and loud and everyone was into it, but UMD shut us up pretty quickly.   They're good.  They're really, really good.

The announcers were talking about how the NHL scouts were all :az: for Brown from UMD.  Apparently, he's a free agent.   Their speed and size is what I remember from last year when they won the regionals.  No team could skate with Yale last year until that game, and they were bigger throughout their lines than we were.

Yale-Clarkson Men's Game Moved to Sunday

Blizzard Forecast Shuts Down Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. – Tonight's Yale-Clarkson men's ECAC Hockey contest at Potsdam has been postponed due to a blizzard forecasted for the area. It will be played Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Bulldogs and Golden Knights were getting ready for tonight's 7:00 faceoff at Cheel Arena when they got word that Clarkson University would be shut down for the rest of the day.

Yale, which arrived in the North Country on Thursday night, will play at St. Lawrence on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Both games can be seen live on the home school's website stream.

I honestly haven't followed UNO that close up to now but what I'm told is that they are very talented but also very young and played like it at times when they really needed to play with poise.  I think umd exploited that youth a bit. Thought UNO matched up pretty well physically though umd was quite a bit faster to the puck and is where they separated themselves.

That major penalty in the first was a pretty big blow too.

Yeah that coastal storm that was supposed to form turned out to be not-so-coastal and the North Country got HAMMERED.

Clarkson is a beautiful campus.

Poop!

This does not look like my Bulldogs year.  I watched tonight's game v. Harvard on NBCSports.  The defense just let too many guys free near the crease and in the slot.  I thought we had an advantage in the play, but did not really deserve the game.  It looks like we will have to slog through the first weekend.

The cornell game was great.  I don't know how RPI got the tie after the first two periods.  Cornell carried the play for all but about 5 minutes at the start of the 3d.  Weakens Cornell's ratings (I almost said weakens their RPI).

Draw. Kinda lame. Fun game though. UNO got nearly 40 shots on goal but the Bemidji goalie was unbelievable tonight.

RPI?  Rochester Polytechnic Institute?

Used to date someone at RIT.  Always got the 2 confused.

you have it.  I think now they go by Rennsalaer (sp?) for most purposes but the hockey team still wears jerseys that say RPI.

Rochester Institute of Technology  =  RIT (in Rochester, NY)
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institue  =  RPI (in Troy, NY - Rensselaer County)

Two different schools about 300 miles apart.
