I'm making it my son's first college hockey game. He's going to stay up with me and watch as I teach him all of the Cornell hockey taunts!

Yale is outplaying Cornell in most facets of the game but the Red lead 2-0 after the first period.

I caught the 2d and 3d period. Yale could use a goalie. I can't say we deserved it, but it did seem like the 3d and 4th goals were good chances but against the flow of the game.

Andrew Miller looks like he could play in the NHL.

It looks like this is a "transitional" team for us as we break in a lot of freshman.

Cornell deserved it, I thought. Nice 3d period.

Meanwhile, it looks like UNO was doing well. Princeton might be a dark horse. They tied yale and beat harvard. Union won and are probably the team to beat.

The broadcasters did a great job of describing his style (Holcumb?). THey showed a side-by-side during the pregame of he and some goalies in the days of yore and showed that his style really is an antiquated style - it's less about positioning and more about maximizing coverage and keeping the paddle down on the ice. It was a really interesting watch. I liked Dave Starman's analysis and I think the dude is great for college hockey. Looking forward to the BU/BC game in a few weeks.

Sounds like the Yale Colgate game was a bit weird. Yale shot not on goal 14 times in the second period (?!). won 2-0. Malcolm who I questioned stopped 39 shots for a shut out. Despite the win, I think it is evident this team has taken a step way back from last year when they would just dominate control of the puck, forecheck effectively, and Rondeau would face only about 20 chances a game.

Merrimack had a great history in DII before the jump to Hockey East. good to see a shake up there. Grand dad helped out the library when it started, which in the 50s was something cool for a Jewish guy helping a Catholic school start up. I think there's a bookshelf or something with his name on it. Cardinal Cushing wrote my grandmother a note when my grandfather passed away.

I'm hoping but doubting that next Saturday's BC at Yale is on either NESN or Comcast in Boston.

NESN carried BC/Vermont last night so there's a great shot.

Cornell v. BU @ Madison SG on MSG next Saturday. I'll be watching.

this CU vs BU game is pretty good. crazy no goal there. it probably is a legit goal, because i dont think it hit the netting. but the ref did blow it dead. crap happens. nobody knew where that puck was. that is one of the crazies things i have ever seen. that overhead view is great of the puck falling and going in

appears as though cornell got good again. good recruiting class

BC beat Yale at the Whale. Key to the game was BC killing off a 5 on 3 with 4 minutes left in the 2d period and Yale leading 2 - 0, then getting a goal to make the game 2-1 before 2d intermission. They then get a short handed goal with 2:41 left in the 3d, and the winner with less than 30 seconds left. Very nice win for BC. Tough week for the bulldogs with a loss to Sacred Heart in Bridgeport earlier. They'll be punished in the rankings, I think. Would have liked to have seen more ECAC success against HE this weekend.
