That's fine, but if you tell me that  he's going to get the first two guys he faces to roll two grounders not hit all that sharply, I take it.  Every time.

Or you could use a reliever who's less likely to give up hits.  By default, you know you're screwing the pitcher who comes in AFTER Slaten when you use Slaten.

Why not use Sean Burnett in the last inning?  At least he got an out.

We've got a double header today.  It's likely that we'll have to use everybody at some point in this twin-bill.

We'll likely be losing to Cliff Lee in the next game so you can use Slaten then.  If you have a chance to win a game, you don't use Doug Slaten.

Why aren't we using our studs?

The Phillies are using theirs'. Lidge, Ibanez, Madson, Rollins.

Instead we use Bixler and Slaten

We're using two of your top studs in Bernadina and Flores and you're still nagging?

...or Robinson...or Torborg...or Alou...or Runnells...or Rodgers...or Fanning (2nd tenure)...or Virdon...or Fanning (1st tenure)...or Williams...or Fox......or Kuehl...or Mauch.

In fact now that Washington Senators 2.0/Texas Rangers finally won a pennant last season, the combined Expos/Nationals franchise is now the longest-running MLB club that has never won a pennant.

Except the Expos did win a fair bit with Alou (until MLB shut down and ruined any chance the Expos ever had) and Williams, who took them to their only playoffs appearance.
