I don't know.  I would have still liked to seen him rewarded with the win.

Davey Johnson, Doug Slaten, Henry Rodriguez, Yunesky Maya, Michael Morse and Danny Espinsoa would have none of that.

Was there tonight, but pretty sure my thoughts have already been expressed by others here. HRod's been good lately, so it was disappointing to see him get hit hard tonight.  Captain Hook should have left Slaten in - apparently, Peacock didn't start the 6th because he wasn't ready (being a starter, he needed more more time to get ready).  Well then, maybe Dentures could have had him start warming up earlier as everyone knew Stras wasn't going past 5.  Bad move putting Peacock in when he did and setting him up to get nailed.  As for Maya, I've seen enough of him.  He always seems to be chugging along just fine, then he'll crash and burn in an instant.  Take tonight - 2 quick outs on 5 pitches, then he can't get the third out for the life of him.  Also, we don't deserve to win if our freaking offense strikes out SEVENTEEN freaking times.  Eckstein needs to go.

Oh, as I write this at 12:54 a.m., I'm watching the O's as they just tied the Yankees in the 6th inning as they play in a ridiculous downpour (before the O's tied it just now, Giardi was pleading with the umps to call the game :lmao: ).  The game started over 4 hours late.  I'm amazed that it stayed rain-free here (mostly) tonight for our game, but perhaps a rainout would have been better than the strikeout-fest we witnessed.

Well, the Strasburg strikeout-fest was good at least ;)

Oddly, last night's announced attendance of 29,092 was the best ever at Nats Park for a Dodgers visit - previous best was 26,338 on Thursday 28th August 2008 - and our best at either venue for a home match against the Dodgers since Sunday 28th May 2006 at RFK (30,348).

That 2006 match and the three we played at RFK in 2005 (all upwards of 35k) are the only times the Nats have ever broken 30k announced attendance for the Dodgers...still can't seem to figure that out - don't SoCal expats here in DC turn out for their home teams like other emigres do?

Timing may have something to do with it - here are the prior home series against the Dodgers:

2005 - 2nd/3rd/4th August (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) - attendances 36/36/35k
2006 - 26th/27th/28th May (Fr/Sa/Su) - attendances 22/26/30k
2007 - 29th/30th/31st May (Tu/We/Th) - attendances 18/22/20k
2008 - 26th/27th/28th August (Tu/We/Th) - attendances 26/22/26k
2009 - 22nd/23rd/24th September (Tu/We/Th) - attendances 18/18/22k
2010 - 23rd/24th/25th April (Fr/Sa/Su) - attendances 23/18/18k

Note that we've gotten them in here for weekend series only twice, and once of those came in April (I don't recall the weather being all that favourable for that series) - otherwise it's been midweek series, usually late in the season, not exactly crowd-pullers.
