When do you think he makes his first start at Potomac?  Thursday or Friday?  His last start was on the 14th.

Saw one tweet that said one scout said his delivery looked inconsistent though.

He did also hit a dude.

Just got home from the game, I'm no scout but he looked good to me.  If his delivery was inconsistent you would think he would have given up more walks or hits.

It looks like you picked the right game to go to tonight. Potomac wins 8-3, Meyer WP.   :)

Not such a good night for the rest of us.   :icon_frown:   :bang:   :hang:

Yeah it was a great game, I got to listen/watch the Nats game from the 8th inning on and it was awful.  I don't know how they could blow that big a lead.

I wonder if they're thinking about getting him to the AFL. I saw a tweet that said he was sitting 94-96 with his fastball.
There it is:
Quote
TimSwartz: Alex Meyer through 4 innings: H, 0R, 4K, 0 BB.  Unofficially 45 pitches (28 strikes). Sitting 94-96 on scouts guns. #nationals

Ptichers for the AFL lately tend to be ones that need more work either due to a late start in the year or DL time during the year.  My impression (others may know better) is that lately, the hitters have been better than the pitchers.  Sometimes some of the pitchers are there to be show cased a bit, too.

He's thrown 102 innings so far this year, so it looks like to me he can hit 140 or by the end of the minor league season. I'm not sure how much more work they will want him to do.

It's hot,dry and 1,000 feet above sea level. crappy conditions for pitchers.
