It wasn't a bad throw, but the runner slid into Desmond and it was a tough play for him. I wouldn't fault either on the play. Also, keep in mind that the bat was flying at Marrero as well.

Eh, so-so.

No it wasn't. It may have looked like that on the screen but the bat was not flying towards him.

It didn't even really look like it on screen.  It went in his general direction, but it was clearly safely to his right.

Yeah but you do keep the object flying at you in the corner of your eye... it can be distracting.

smart gameplan - michael morse is dominant at 1st base and sucks as an outfielder.  excellent - let's put him in the outfield and see Marrero who will never be a legit player in.

outstanding Dentures

Argh. Another error my Marrero.

Years ago, I was a student at college in Chicago. The Bears had a clumsy QB named Bobby Douglass who gamied more yards running than passing. Douglass was a big guy who ran like a fullback...would drop back, tuck the ball, and plow forward.

Bears fans hated that. They wanted a passer named Virgil Carter to start. Every game, fans would chant, "Carter! Carter! Carter!"

Finally, Douglass got hurt, Carter totted into the game, and the crowd stood to cheer.

Next play, Carter threw a feeble interception, the crowd groaned, and sat down.

I hope Marrero is not the Nats Virgil Carter.

I would say the Reds are scoring like the Nats (on outs), but lately the Nats haven't even been doing that :?

How many non-homer runs in the last few days have the Nats scored?

Well the Reds know how to play baseball. Sadly, the Nats are a cluster freak.

I wonder if Mike Rizzo is wasting his Saturday night watching this crapshow or if he's at home watching a Ronnie Coleman/Jay Cutler workout video with a tub of KY.

Why does it seem like the ball is right at a fielder EVERY.  SINGLE.  TIME.
