The Diamondbacks were our first-ever home opponent, and we've done pretty well against them at home through the years - 12-7 all-time (6-4 at RFK, 6-3 at Nats Park):

2005 (14th/16th/17th April) - 3W-0L
2006 (2nd-3rd September*) - 3W-0L
2007 (5th-8th April) - 0W-4L
2008 (8th-10th July) - 1W-2L
2009 (7th-9th September) - 3W-0L**
2010 (13th-15th August) - 2W-1L

*Doubleheader on 2nd (re-scheduled from previous day due to rain-out)
**One of only five series sweeps the Nats would mount, home or away, in that train-wreck year

---

Best-ever attendance at Nationals Park for a Diamondbacks visit was 27,330 on Thursday 10th July 2008 (lost 7-5 in 11 innings, Qualls over Ayala); worst was 19,549 on Friday 13th August 2010 (won 4-2, Lannan over Saunders).

advanced stats - nice touch.

I hope we come in pumped from the weekend rather than have a let-down.  The D-backs are reeling and we have a chance to get back to .500 this week.

The DBacks have lost 5 in a row. We must pounce and take 3 of 4 or sweep.

Saunders has already owned us once this year though. 7 IP 2 H 0 ER 2 BB 5 K

Saunders is hammered azz.  If we can knock him out by the fourth inning we've got serious problems.

It's true (http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings) - only Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Atlanta have more home wins.

There's going to be a "donnybrook" in this series. Book it. Game 3.

The Diamondbacks were our first-ever home opponent ....

....

I've always continued to boo Lance Cormier (the Arizona pitcher who drilled Castilla in that very first home game) every time I've seen him pitch.

I hope they have power washed the seats to get the Philly stench out of Nats Park.

Bixler in CF = FAIL. Desmond batting first and Bixler batting 2nd in a MLB lineup = embarrassing

wtf seriously

the same desmond who hit .285 against the phillies this weekend with 4 rbis?

we don't have any ideal leadoff hitters on this club and i'd rather see other guys than him hit leadoff, but davey's gotta put him somewhere.
