Thought this might be a hoot. Found this old pic of my wife and I with Mom when the folks were visiting us in Ossining, NY. Please take special note of how skinny the still cigarette smoking saltydad was. Note also the hair, black hair! This was in the early '80s.

In contrast, here I am scarfing down food at a WNFF Meetup at Famous Dave's in Virginia a few years ago. I'm the fellow in the front with the 'deer caught in headlights' expression and the trademark beard. Note the belly and the paucity of hair at the apex point, and it's grey!

Slightly missing the point: they have Famous Dave's down east? Oh, man. That's one thing I kinda miss about Illinois/Michigan... even though Texas barbecue is, naturally, way better!

We have several Famous Dave's here in the DC area. One of my favorite spots.

anyone ever been to Willard's BBQ in Chantilly? Awesome food, but forget about getting a seat during lunch hour.

OK, we should set up a future meetup there. I love BBQ, and will always be up for going to a BBQ place. I do miss the Argentinean/Brazilian place (can't remember which?) where they carved the meat off of the skewers at your table. We've also been to a Cuban place set up by NoSpin. Have I missed one?

But back to the point, am I gonna be the only one sharing pics here?

About once a month (when my brother is in town) we go to an Argentinian spot in Arlington called Victor's. They have pretty good food and sangria.

There's Divino in Bethesda which is ok, and El Patio in Rockville which is incredibly authentic.

A tad distant for most of us. I do remember seeing a bit on them in Triple D (one of my favorite shows).

Oh thank god. For the longest time, MDS, I thought you were a white guy who was comically pretending to be a black guy, but then after the recent scuffle in the Beautiful Women Thread I started thinking, "Oh jesus what if he is a real black guy and I've spent all this time thinking the azz/jive turkey talk was a practical joke, is that racist???" but whew

Ha! I weighted 185lbs then and was completely out of my mind on the verge of total self-destruction. In case you can't tell I'm doing my bets Gene Simmons impersonation there. I have a long way to go before I'm back to that weight but I'm on my way.

That's exactly what I weighed in the pic I posted, 185. I've got 80 pounds to go to get back there, but man is it hard. I can't do the workout thing in depth due to health considerations. Walking is the only non-water exercise I do, and that hurts. If you've ever seen me walk, I look like a cross between Chester on Gunsmoke and Grandpa Amos McCoy on The Real McCoys. Swimming is what I should do, but don't currently belong to a pool.
