I saw a little girl get smacked in the head by a screaming foul ball there. Her dad was positioned between her and the batter, in position to make the play, but just wasn't paying attention. The ball passed inches from his chest and hit her full in the head. It was very scary, she was knocked unconcious but we heard later she had recovered nicely.
Since then, I always take a glove and position myself between the kids and the batter, and pay attention. So glove in left hand, beer in right, eyes on the batter and mouth running, that's me at a P-Nats game.
