I sadly have to agree with spoprtsfan here.

We'd have to have a historic collapse to really end this season on a bad note.

What a great setup-closer combo we have here.

They have 7 more innings to hit and so do we.  I suspect we won't end this game with 3 runs on the board.

Awful ending.

Terrible performances all around.

One of the worst wins of the season.

>>>ONLY on the Nats Board.....Only here. I don't think we've earned the right to nag about WIN QUALITY yet.

Detwiler was solid. He got lucky a few times but I can't complain too much about 5.1 innings and 2 runs against.

I'll say it again.  We are going to regret not scoring more than three runs in the first inning.

I was beginning to think you'd overlooked that aspect of the evening.

We did it in '05.

Big difference between playing the Pirates/Cubs and the Braves/Phillies. Huge difference matter of fact.

Werth has to start hitting. Zimmerman has to start hitting. We need Morse back. We need Desmond to be replaced.

How can you excuse 7 straight innings without a run against the likes of Ramon Ortiz and crappy bullpen? Just puzzling, some hard hit outs but a lot of bad ABs with RISP as usual.

Desmond, Werth, Stairs, the usual culprits.

Just think if we'd have lost.

We lucked out on this one.    Any win is good.  But I don't feel good about this one at all.

Too many catheter ads will do that.

Well, I'm certainly not expecting a 14-game slide, but I don't think this team is going to finish at .500 either.  We'll see.  Either way, it's fun to feel like the team is somewhat relevant this late in the season.

Late?  Were still days away from the All-Star break.

I didn't say "late" but "this late."  We were already long out of contention at this time last year.

above .500 past the midpoint is a nice place for us right now.

A shame the Braves and Phillies never lose making the division and wild card a distant hope.

Still, Nats are one of 16 teams in baseball with a winning record.

Missed the entire game after going to watch Bryce  .

Brief rundown? Did we get lucky due to the errors? Guessing Werth was horrible and Stairs still sucks. (Going by play by play)

How was Detwiler?

The Braves have a decent amount of young talent. Their pitching is ridiculous.

The Phillies do have older players but they only seem to be getting better with age. It's like those bastards will be good forever.
