I think he laid the groundwork for his argument three innings ago.
If we lose we have to win 3 in a row just to win the series. Doubtful, we needed this win

So you don't think that historical predictors of future ERA are likely to work for pitchers like Mattheus?  Any particular reason?  Obviously it's a small sample, but the components of SIERA normalize a lot more quickly than those of ERA.

Because it's completely irrelevant given the lineup changes, playing conditions, physical and psychological makeup of the pitchers and players...etc.  That and it's totally redonkulous to point to any of those metrics and think you can actually predict anything.  If you could, we wouldn't bother playing the game.

Half of Los Angeles and ever Dodger has already beat you there.

Don't forget the LA Kings.

Awesome.  Will Mark Prior close the game out for the Chubs?

Stephen Strasburg might go down the same road as Prior.

I don't care how bad Zimmerman is slumping, I always expect something big out of a Ryan Zimmerman at bat. Always.

Huh?  I obviously can't predict an individual pitcher appearance for the reasons you mentioned and more, but I can make a general statement, like, say, "I don't like our using Mattheus in close games like this."  I can't say Zimmerman will get on base here, or even that it's likely, but I still think PHing him for Cora here is a good idea.

Grudzielanek was the first guy Wood ever faced. FP batted second in that game.

You pointed to a predictive metric as a reason why though.  You could have just said "I don't like it."

Again, I always expect positives from a Ryan Zimmerman at bat. He's our guy. Our franchise player. The face. Gotta love him.

I have a bad feeling he's going to throw a breaking ball and Danny is going to roll over on it :(
