No doubt worst loss of the season if they fall today.

Nah, nothing could beat getting 12 walks, three HBP and scoring one run earlier in the season.

Are there any hitters in our farm system that have a chance to be great in the bigs other than Harper and Norris?
Rendon, when he signs... but honestly "great" is a pretty high bar to set.  And minor league projection is really hard most of the time.  The trio Montreal traded to the Indians for Bartolo Colon turned out to hold two superstars and another really good player, and nobody suspected it at the time.

Must be pretty embarassing for Werth and Desmond to see Jordan Zimmermann hit better than them.

Werth overcomes the humiliation on paydays.

I hope Davey J is telling Rizzo that he needs to bring up some real hitters.  They can't have lineups full of backups if the regulars get injured.

Michael Aubrey and Chris Marrero are better than Stairs.  Antonelli and Lombo are better than Cora.

Put Werth in CF in Bernadina craps the bed like that.

I expect to NOT SEE Marraro, Antonelli and Lombardozzi in the Syracuse lineup tonight!

Pretty much the only way this team can score runs is by the other team's fielding errors.  How's that for small-ball?  :panic:

Don't know about great, but Marrero, Moore and Lombardozzi could be average-above average.

Every now and then we get a homer.

Pena is red-hot right now, and Ramirez is hitting well for them right now too.

If Werth and Desmond were hitting, they might be able to get away with all these backups.  But they're not, so they can't.

Right now, Werth and Desmond are replacement level players.

Desmond will never hit, at least not for the foreseeable future.  I don't think anyone was even really expecting him to hit.

Did you guys not think he could stick around at his .269 average from last year?

Some people thought and still think he's a stud.

I didn't.  I can probably dig up my post from last year where I said his highish average was inflated by an unsustainable BABIP and that it would regress significantly next season, if I look hard enough.

Can you explain BAPIP? Batting average on balls in play, right? How does it work?
