8 hits, 4 walks, and 4 runs given up in 5 innings. Our pitchers really suck against teams that make good contact but have little power.

Marquis didn't give up 4 runs. And he would have only given up 2 had Desmond not had that error.

How much can WNFFers overreact in a single inning?

Hyperbole much?  Bally is the least-used pitcher in the bullpen...

Think about it.  Outside of Clippard and Storen(who we can't use every night), who do we have that really makes you feel confident throwing in a close game?

This is what a 100-loss team looks like.

No one. Our pen last year was far superior. The pen this year sucks. Without amazing seasons by Clippard and Storen our pen would be the worst in baseball.

Yeah, but he did put 3 men on base, so that when Desmond made the error there were people scoring.  Not earned runs, but it's not like he was totally "innocent" either.

No one.  But most teams don't even have two relievers who they feel really confident leaving out there in a close game.  Coffey isn't terrible (though he's not great) and Mattheus looks promising.  Burnett and H-Rod are unreliable and Bally I don't trust at all.  But we don't have any truly awful relievers...

...Bally might be trying to get into that category though.

I'd like to see Morse commit an error to set a record. But in all seriousness, Marquis being left in the game was the root of this inning's problems. Davey, it's not the 1950's anymore, we have a bullpen with multiple guys that are ready to go.

Balester was given a chance to hold a lead and give us a valuable inning or two and he completely chokes.

A 4 error night. And it's only the 6th inning. What are we doing out there?
