I wonder how long he'll stick with the LaRussa-esque pitcher-batting-8th thing.

When was the last time LaRussa used it?

They're all mediocre to terrible, depending on whose agenda you ask.  Hence my original :wtf: about Hairston playing left, which sailed right over Linty.  I think I was thinking Morse should be playing left, but of course he's filling in at first for Magic Glove now.

Sailed... or ignored? :couch:

Probably until we lose.

Nats reinstate Ryan Zimmerman from the 15-day DL and option RHP Craig Stammen to Triple-A Syracuse.

Bixler is still on the team???  So who is our long reliever?

I'll be pitching tonight in relief should Maya run into any problems.  They've got the team store stitching my 60 double long jersey together right now.

That's why Linty's not playing LF tonight.

By the way, is this the most posts in a GD thread before the game has started?

I thought he needed three years of data for it to "normalize".

On the bright side... if you're a fan of Ryan Mattheus, you'll likely get to see his debut tonight.

Is that according to the gun in the Bullpen? Or is that from an actual radar gun.

Stammen's the odd man out.

Can someone explain why we are going with 6 RP? I guess we are keeping Bixler to PR for Stairs. After all , he is an OBP machine.

still waiting to hear who got the ticket to Syracuse to make room for Zimmerman.
Gotta be one of Bixler, Stairs, or Cora, right?

Edit: Wow... Stammen?  Really?

I still don't like the line-up. I think Werth is terrible as the Lead-Off Hitter. And I think Werth should bat, before or after, Ryan Z.   Anybody else have heartburn on this line-up?   Yes -No- Maybe-Everyone eating Dinner?

i hate it too, but I'm not sure I see any better options at leadoff with Bernie out.
