Seriously.

How do you sign this guy after you see him pitch a bullpen?

What did he show the scouts to make them think he could offer anything in the majors?

Yes Nats scouting staff, unlike the rest of the declining league, Pujols is actually that good of a pure hitter.

True.  And the thing is he clearly doesn't belong up here.  Why continue to throw him out there.

Anyone else notice that elderly sow if the LF seats celebrating the Pujols HR when they showed the replay ?

Traveled from the midwest, or a local ?

All I ask is that Maya not ruin RZ's return.  I just want to see a competitive game :?

Oh great job... you caught a screaming line drive.

Of course, that line drive means they're on him like white on rice.

Awful scouting job by the Nats and Rizzo. Maya has minor league caliber stuff.

There is a reason we signed him and not a smart team like the Yankees

Rizzo will never admit fault though

I mean obviously pujols is one of the best, but that doesn't give maya an excuse to leave two breaking balls up especially to crappy theriot.

Maya has some decent stuff. He can serve a role. Obviously not front line starter. Bigger problem is thinking his mediocre stuff is going to dominate Pujols.

The Yankees have made plenty of mistakes both in scouting and evaluating their talent and in FA signings.  The difference is that they can absorb the cost of their mistakes.

Too late. Game over.

Jaime Garcia owns us and Maya will be knocked out early.

The lineup does look much nicer with Zimm's name in there... but that doesn't mean we're going to win this one.
