Cashman says in today's Times:
“If you’re asking me which is the easier animal to wrap your hands around, starter or reliever, it’s reliever,” Cashman said. “Forget the left side, but on the right side, you’ll get a failed starter who looks bad on one team, and he’s a decent reliever sometimes. At least in short samples.”
They conclude:
"The point is the Yankees know how to produce decent relievers, and that outside help can be easy to find. The dangerous strategy is to overpay for setup men, as Cashman learned with Kyle Farnsworth and others."

So...probably can't get Brett Gardner even for Coffey and Burnett. A shame, too.
