Follow the prospects: Cutter Dykstra
« Topic Start: June 07, 2011, 10:24:49 AM »
Turns 22 on June 29, 2nd Round pick in 2008 by Milwaukee.  Acquired for Nyjer Morgan in 2011.

.234   .261   .287 through 46 games at Potomac with no HRs

.312   .416   .411 last year in 100 games at A, with 5 HRs

I've seen him play a few times, including P-Nats opening day where he looked at a called strike three to end a rally in the 9th with the bases loaded.  He doesn't seem to have the size, skills to go much further.

Could this be the worst trade we've ever made?

Any trade that got rid of Tony Plush can't be the worst trade we've ever made.

He could be preoccupied, his dad arrested for Grand Theft Auto among other charges.

they don't even seem to have a position for him at Potomac, he's spending most of his time at DH.  Maybe if Harper comes up they could move him to Hagerstown and see if he can do anything in the field.

We're destroying the value of Follow the Prospects threads when we have one for Cutter Dykstra.

Don't Clutter with Cutter.

I'm thinking this thread should be titled "ridicule the prospect," not "follow the prospect."

to be fair, had he maintained or improved on his 2010 numbers, then yes, he's definitely a prospect.

If your first name is Cutter, then are you allowed to have nickname?  If yes, then I nominate "Cheese."  Or "The Mohel."

Dykstra now at Potomac.  Broke up a 19 inning hitless streak by a legitimate prospect, Henry Owens of Salem.  Interesting tidbit:

Quote
As for Dykstra, he is the son of once-imprisoned former MLB star Lenny Dykstra and is engaged to actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

Didn't do Jackie Jr. any good.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler is preggers... and 32 to Cutter's 24.

You may know her as Meadow Soprano or the lead Woo Girl on an episode of How I Met Your Mother.

he's having a pretty good season at Potomac.

.280 / .409 / .368 overall but .429 / .644 / .750 in his last 10.  Only 3 HRs on the season though.

He's two levels below his previous highest assignment and old for the league.  Organizational filler.
