Ankiel hitting leadoff should be Riggleman's white flag.

really was hoping we'd see Bernie / Ankiel / Werth in the OF, that looked pretty good last night.

Werth/Nix/Morse back to back might actually be something for an opposing team to worry about.

four SD starters batting under .200 (two are debuting), highest is Headley at .264.  Eric Patterson is batting .185.

We really need to sweep these guys.

Bat hitting catcher's glove.   Never seen that before in my life.

Pudge's left hand I'll bet is numb and in a lot of pain now.

He was looking at it and flicking his hand.

Maybe good leather but bad feet.

That was the second time in a row he misjudged a ball.

Not a good sign.

Yup. Daresay about half "sensational" catches happen like that - result of a bad first step. DiMaggio never made catches like that; he was just there, wherever the ball came down.

there's just no way morse should be given the green light on a pitcher that had just issued 3 consecutive walks.
