Sweet, sweet play by Marquis and especially by Pudge!
Especially considering the fact that Marquis had to throw 4 strikes to strike out Hanley Ramirez

Uh, Dave, I don't think the Pirates pronounce his name "Paul Muhollum."

Rarest feats:

- 12 inning perfect game

- all-Cuban triple play

- Same pitcher shuts out Yankees three consecutive games.

Back-to-back inside-the-park homers on consecutive pitches has happened.

Nats Jim Lemon also had two HRs in one inning (as have others...)

Pudge is showing that he is not done quite yet.
I'm serious when I say they should extend him for two years and let him back up Ramos.  That'd be the best backup catcher in the league.

Ha yes, must translate into Carpenterese

I think what you meant to say was:

"HOW ABOUT THAT!  HOW GOOD HAS ADAM LAROCHE BEEN OVER THERE AT FIRST BASE?"

Holy crap.

I wonder if there's ever been a 4 HR game with homers to left, right, center, and inside-the-park.

This game is taking forever. 2:40 and it's the 3rd inning.

And maybe some big ball-parks. I think there were years when more inside-the -park HRs were hit at Griffith Stadoium that over-the-wall HRs.

In 2002, Shawn Green hit a single, a double, AND four homers in one game.

On the second homer, two outfielders (Lou Piniella and Mickey Rivers) collided and knocked each other out.

Yes. How likely that Flores could make that play?

Huh? It's been 1 hour 6 minutes.

Maybe it just feels like forever because I've been working on a final.

It was also catchable.

Werth doesn't seem to be a very good near-the-wall type outfielder.
