Veteran intangibles!!! :couch:

Let's take Zim for veteran "tangibles" and Ankiel for veteran inspiration. Werth will return soon enough. That ought to be enough. LaRoche is another.

Send Corey, Hrod, and a few others in a trade for something like Upton!

Unless you're talking about BJ, we don't have the "few others"

HRod is a negative. They have a great, young first baseman and solid outfielders, even without Upton.

The Nats look thin at SS, 3B, and C. It hurts when Desmond doesn't play. RZim needs a day off once in a while, but Lombo is already at 2B. (Maybe Espinoza whenever Desmond returns?). And Jesus Flores plus Leon (the Nats AA catcher at the start of the year) can't be a strong.

Somehow, I still wish Brown could play in Washington.

Lol 4 months ago we were hoping Desmond would be at short. Now we're weak there because he missed three games?

I dont think I've ever been more wrong about a player than Desmond

Time for something to happen with Brown. I wonder if the Perez promotion is the first step .

Yep. I thought the same thing as I wrote it.

I also said, last fall, that the Nats would improve to the extent that Desmond and Espinosa improved. Not entirely accurate...but the MI have to hit more like Jeter/Cano than like last season's Desmond/Espinosa. With Desmond, so far so good.

A lot of OF on the Nats, but Moore and Morse are not defensive stars, Harper is still learning, and Bernadina still makes spectacular plays to catch balls he misjudges. Werth is the most dependable OF, and he's just working back.

Yes, dump HRod and promote Corey Brown!

If Harper is seriously injured an put on the DL, does Brown get called up?

But knowing Davey, he'll play Bernadina for like 5 games in the week while giving Corey some pinch hits here and there with a spot start... He'll continue to do this for two weeks, even though Corey Brown has 5 hits in 12 at bats with a home run. He'll eventually play Corey for two or three games in a row. Corey will be starting but not necessarily every day since Davey will continue to play Bernadina, even though Bernie has 4 hits in his last 30 something at bats.

Corey Brown will finally get  the nod to start but it will be at the worst timing when Bryce is back.

You're not even close to being right on Bernadna's numbers. I'd understand if Nady/Ankiel/DeRosa was taking time from young players.. but Bernadina isn't bad. Maybe I just like him.

I was being facetious, using the Tyler Moore and Lombo situations when they first came up.

Bernadina has succeeded in the bench spot. It's what he is. He's a fourth outfielder. Everytime he's been given the chance to start, he slumps big time.
