Here's the link to the Brown story.  Worth a read - says Brown is on Rizzo's and Davey's radar.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/post/corey-brown-emerges-at-syracuse-and-another-nationals-minor-league-name-to-know/2012/05/24/gJQAgTXsnU_blog.html

Problem with Brown is... Morse is about to return, and when that happens, they'll likely have no where to play him... as I don't see the team getting rid of Ankiel... who they seem to look past his offensive woes and keep him starting for what he brings in the field.

Next year with Werth back, it only gets worse for him

Eh, I think they'll end up with Harper in CF. Morse will go to first. That will leave LF open for a season until Goodwin or Perez comes up in 2014 to play centerfield. By then, Werth will be in LF because he's slow and Harper will be in RF. That one year we have Brown up will be a good chance to showcase him and trade him for something else.

It really is a nice problem to have.  An MLB caliber outfielder in the minors with options who can be called up and adequately backfill.  This is the role Josh Reddick and Ryan Kalish had with the Sox the past few years.  Let Brown ride the shuttle for 3 years if our outfield is so talented.  Meanwhile, he may displace Shark when Shark hits arbitration.

wow.  I don't see the Nats making a move because they love Ankiel in CF, but it would be really cool to see Lombo/Brown/Harper until Morse comes back.

Brown is a stud. I knew he was good, but he's been on a tear lately. Has the most homers of anyone in the Nats organization.

I like this one.
But I figured Teahen would get the call as he plays infield.

Lombo plays everywhere. We need a good hitter to ride the pine so Nady can get some playing time.

Twitter reports are that Brown's family showed up at the game to watch him play only to find out that he was being held out because he's being called up to join the Nats in Miami.

Well Brown has officially been called up. It probably won't be a long stay with DeRosa and Morse getting close to coming back.

And with his call up, Corey Brown's FTP thread gets placed in the MoveOn.org / Lock and Load Prospects Memorial section of the first post.

DFA Nady
Fixed it

DeRosa can play some infield so he's mildly useful

Who is DeRosa? Did he ever play for the Nats?

[Joking aside, I can't remember the guy's first name. It's been that long.]

Nady is a great pinch hitter. DeRosa is good at pinching off loaves.

I'll be interested to see what they do with him for next year.  We have Harper and Werth as locks for 2 outfield spots.  We have Morse, Moore, Brown, and Marrero competing for time at LF/1B.  And that's assuming we don't bring back LaRoche or sign BJ Upton.

If we save our cash by not signing Upton or bringing back LaRoche, maybe that will leave enough to go after Grienke.
