Does he really only top out at 90? That would have him sitting in the high 80's most of the time.
His inning's are being limited, today's line, 4ip 1H, 0ER, 1BB, 7K's. ERA down to 2.09 on the year.
9. Robbie Ray, LHPDOB: 10/1/91Height/Weight: 6-2/170Bats/Throws: L/LDrafted/Signed: 12th round, 2010, Brentwood HS (TN)2011 Stats: 3.13 ERA (89-71-38-95) at Single-A (20 G)Tools Profile: Solid but unspectacular across the board.Year in Review: Big bonus baby from 2011 was held back in extended spring to limit his workload but struck out over a batter per inning. The Good: Ray has average fastball velocity that plays up due to his inability to throw the pitch straight. He's honed his hybrid breaking ball into a usable pitch, and his changeup flashes plus and generated swings and misses in the Sally League. He has loose, easy arm action that allows him to maintain his stuff deep into games. The Bad: Ray is not an impressive physical specimen, which could limit his upside. His command and control falter at time, but it's not a big concern as they should be addressed with more experience. He tends to work up in the zone, which could lead to some troubles at the upper levels.Ephemera: 36 percent of the runs Ray allowed in 2011 came in the fourth inning; he had a composite 2.32 ERA in all other frames.Perfect World Projection: Number-three starter.Fantasy Impact: Not a monster but could help a bit in every category.Path to the Big Leagues: Ray will move up one level to High-A Potomac in 2011.ETA: 2014
Why are you reposting all of these? Tomterp posted them all a while ago.http://www.wnff.net/index.php?topic=22286.msg932291#msg932291
I think there's value in having the specific player comments within each player's thread.
I guess some people couldn't figure it out... but I was just copying and pasting from your thread, into specific threads. I'm well aware you posted these reports earlier.
Hood, now Ray ETA 2014. Will that be The Year when the Nats have a strong team? (I'm tired of waiting.)
Lacy Lusk @lacyluskLHP Robbie Ray is further along than Purke as they build toward pitching in the minors this season. Ray's up to a 90-pitch, 6-inning limit.
Bobby Hansen Jr. @bobbyhansenjrThe boy @robbieray22 in Woodbridge
No official transaction yet, but:The addition of Hague and Ray, along with the pending addition of Purke is really going to ramp up the talent level at Potomac. Could you imagine if Rendon was healthy right now what that team would look like?
