Bravo!

getting very stoked about our ML pitching.  Milone/Peacock/Rosenbaum all look like the can contribute soon, and maybe Arneson.  And then we've got the slew of Ray, Cole, Solis, Purke, Meyers, and "pitcher whom i'm missing"

The days of Martis/Stammen/Atilano hopefully are behind us.

LOL Martis pitched a no hitter. I don't think we should give up on him yet.

Peacock is the Eastern League pitcher of the year!

Slow down a minute. EL is Harrisburg. Let's wait until Peacock is pitcher-of-the-month in Syracuse before we make him the next Juan Marischal. He might be, of course, but there is a big gap between AA and MLB.

Milone is a stunner...I want to see him pitch in Washington just to see if he can do it to big-timers
with 84mph pitches.

Arnesen looks like Lannan with less pop and less control. My guess is that he won't get above Syracuse.

My hunch is that Peacock makes the Nats in the spring, or comes up in June as he finds his way among better hitters. Milone? We'll see ini about two weeks.

Peacock's been walking way too many batters in AAA i doubt he's called up.

He's had a great year, actually.  Someone had a story about him today, about how he's completely resurrected his career.  Took his nutrition seriously, got in shape and fixed his mechanics.  Probably would be out of baseball if he hadn't.  Would be a great story if he can complete it.

Edit, found it.  It was Kilgore:

Worth pointing out that this is Martis' second career no-hitter.

Agree with your disagree

However I do think he should get a September call up just so he can see how much he needs to work on his change up

Has anyone ever thought of converting him to a reliever? I feel like he could be dominant there.

yes, most every evaluation before the season said that was his future.  the interesting thing is that he may be a starter.

No he shouldn't.

He's done nothing to outshine Milone.

He shouldn't be called up at all.  He's walked far too many batters in AAA.  He's not ready.

48 IP in AA, 24 BB.  I do like the K an inning rate.  Bottom line I think is this kid is very promising but has more to learn at AAA.  It seems there is a squeeze for finding spots on the 40 man roster.  It would not be a travesty to give Milone the shot in September.  It saves having to put him on the 40 man right now.

Drafted in 2006 out of high school. Must he be added to the 40 man this off season?  If yes, that might change the thinking.  No sense not giving him a taste if you are going to burn an option next year at the start of the year in any event.

Agree with you.

His change just isn't there yet. So unless they're going to convert him to a reliever, he needs to start some more before making it to the show.

Could he pitch in the AFL?

He already did last year.

Might be time to give his arm a rest for a few weeks.
