So - high A the rest of the year, AA to start next year?
I think when Peacock gets promoted, so will Solis again. When Solis was drafted, he was considered a fast mover and should be able to get to the majors quickly. The Nats are going to stick to their plan as long as he stays healthy, he should be in the Bigs by mid-season 2012.

Love the Ks but 10 BB + H in 6 IP is a concern.

1.26 WHIP through 19 innings at Potomac.  K an inning.  If anyone has seen his starts, is he getting swing and misses for his Ks?

So you are saying 3 bad starts in a row in terms of WHIP?  That walk rate for a control guy is a concern.  It's just A+.  Better than Detwiler in 2008 at the same level, but slipping into that territory.

[edit - last night's start showed progress, but he's had 29 H + BB over the last 17.1 innings]

A twitter today by Byron Kerr says that Sammy Solis is visiting Drs for a sore elbow. Anyone know more about this?

10. Sammy Solis, LHP
DOB: 8/10/88
Height/Weight: 6-5/230
Bats/Throws: R/L
Drafted/Signed: 2nd round, 2010, University of San Diego
2011 Stats: 4.02 ERA (40.1-39-12-40) at Single-A (7 G). 2.72 ERA (56.1-61-11-53) at High-A (10 G)
Tools Profile: Solid stuff, better command.

Year in Review: Second-round pick pitched well at both A-level affiliates.
The Good: Solis attacks hitters with a low-90s fastball that can touch 94-95 mph. He works low in the strike zone, uses both sides of the plate effectively, and is consistently ahead in the count. His beefy frame and simple delivery is designed for a heavy workload.
The Bad: Solis can rely too heavily on his fastball, which causes him to give up too many hits. He'll show a good curveball at times, but it's very inconsistent, while his changeup also comes and goes from start to start.
Ephemera: Despite being a relatively high pick that produced our most recent Hall of Famer in Barry Larkin, the 51st overall selection has not been kind to pitchers, as Chris Haney (38), Tim Scott (24), and Rocky Biddle (20) are the only ones to reach double digits in wins.
Perfect World Projection: Durable number-four starter and innings eater.
Fantasy Impact: One of those starters who helps by not hurting your team.
Path to the Big Leagues: Solis's ceiling is a bit limited, but he has the ability to move through the system quickly. He'll begin 2012 at Double-A Harrisburg.
ETA: 2013

Nats uncertain on Solis.

Quote
As big-league camp gets underway, so does the Nationals' accelerated minor-league camp down the street from Space Coast Stadium. One of the participating pitchers is left-hander Sammy Solis, who had to be shut down during the Arizona Fall League due to elbow soreness.

Solis was examined by multiple doctors over the winter, and Rizzo said "there was a little difference of opinions." Ultimately, the club chose to shut the 2010 second-round pick down for the winter and start over again this spring.

"We had him rest over the winter. We shut him down," Rizzo said. "And now we'll ramp him up and see what happens. So there's a little question."

Still think he tries to pitch through it for half a year, puts up bad stats and gets TJ in August.

Sucks that he is dealing with all these injuries, because the kid really does have the stuff and mentality to contribute some value to a major league rotation.  Part of the reason he dropped in the draft was because of injury concerns (back at the time) and it was a reasonable risk for the Nats to take him based off of his talent level.  Personally, I'm not optimistic about him ever staying healthy enough to make it to the show, but sometimes these risks do not pay out.
