He is around because he tweets occasionally.

So, Sammy Solis has pitched two innings in relief in Double A. Does this mean they're making him a reliever?

Hey, if it reduces the stress on his elbow, and he turns out to be a useful lefty reliever, that's the best-case scenario for him now. Can't imagine a better outcome after all the trouble he's had.

Yes,  Rizzo said this on his weekly show on 106Fan

Will temporarily lock this while he's on the roster.

Maybe Roark back to the bullpen to pitch 7/8 innings, almost every game. Fister returning next week. Maybe Ross stays and starts.

If Strasburg ever recovers, let him alternate with Roark as the two-inning reliever. Then SS doesn't have to think about pacing himself or worry about the fourth pitch that he can't throw perfectly. Just throw 99 mph and that curve. He's not the next Walter Johnson...so be it.

If Strasburg recovers, he's in the rotation. No ifs ands or buts.

If he continues to struggle, that's when you consider him in the bullpen.

Updated to reflect a nickname.  BrandonK suggested "Sammy Solid", but in the thread title, I think "Solid" Sammy Solis works better.

Assume that "solid" is a descriptor for his personality and/or torso, not his elbow or shoulder.

With 51 IP in the majors, he has exhausted his rookie status, therefore is a permanent graduate to the MoveOn /Lock and Load thread.
