I would hope we can clear out 2 rotation spots with deadline moves so that Wang and Milone get a chance to show themselves.

While Peacock has the higher ceiling, he at least has AAA as the next step. He can replace Milone there.

After their last starts, I am more than willing to get rid of Marquis and/or Livo.

Burnett just to begin with. Let him pitch two innings at a time. Anybody other than Burnett (AOTB). He's a LHP...if the team MUST have some lefties, lets try Milone. Can he be any worse than Burnett?

I want Romero to come up for a couple weeks and then get flipped to the Yankees.

Brian Cashman is many things, but he's not stupid...meaning in return for Romero we get a AA pitcher about as good as Aaron Thompson (AGAAT...pronounced "aaaaghh-uht", as in a cry of prolonged pain.)

or Ryan Matheus, who we got for the last LOOGY veteran we traded.

**PROGRAMMING ALERT**

Tommy should be getting an inning soon in the Triple-A All star game. There are four more innings in the game and he hasn't pitched yet.  MLB NETWORK

Milone with a K to end the inning.

He could pitch for the Nats, easy.

He'll get the call this season, no doubt about it

He faced four.

Pop out to SS
Single to CF
I think a grounder to SS or another pop out to SS
Strike out

Antonelli grounded out to 3B in his only at-bat so far.

Saw Antonelli's last at bat, he fouled some tough pitches that Desmond would have probably struck out on, but then struck out on a 96 MPH cheese up in the zone.

If he's sitting mid 80's, he's got no hope. Anywhere.

Jame Moyer, with his 20+ years of experience and knowledge posts near 5 ERAs. No way a kid that sits there does any better.

Time for a move to the pen, because there's no future in this rotation.

Except that there are pitchers in the bigs, right now, who pitch mid-80's with perfectly  acceptable results.  Not many, but they exist.  If even one such person existed it would be enough to give someone with numbers like Milone's a shot.  I'm not saying he'll be a guaranteed success, but if these numbers haven't earned him a chance to show everyone what he can do in the majors, I don't know what would.

His K/BB ratio is not human. there is more to pitching than just velocity. Well sort of. Change in velocity and location are the most important parts of pitching.

We have our own mid-80's fastball pitcher already on the roster.  Mr. National himself, he of the 57 mph curveball, and subject of various investigations into questionable dealings with questionable charcteris in the DR - Livo Hernandez!
