Is that really from Balester?
It's from his facial hair.

Hard to blame the pitching when the offense is sitting in a hammock sipping coconut water. Today's game sucked. Thanks offense!

About 24 hours ago SF was talking about how the team was full of ass kickers. Today he says they will be 10 games under .500 soon. SF strikes me as the kid who pouted and went on a tantrum whenever crap didn't go exactly the way he wanted it to go.

Why are you using past tense?   :P

We're all right. We're used to being on the bottom so being in the middle isn't so bad.

That's true.  What Balester did really had no impact on the outcome.

The pitcher would have had to throw a shutout for ∞ to win this game.

Good point but I was thinking of SF as a young boy. The kind of kid who would take his ball and go home if his team didn't win every game on the playground. He wouldn't last long on the blacktop.   :lmao:

Or to force a tie.

yeah ... and you know how many "good" teams have a worse record than us right now?

now it's up to us to use this plane ride and have the right mindset going into pittsburgh.  sweep or at least win the series.  we'll be 12-9 or 11-10 when we come back home.

I had actually forgotten my old meme about not blaming the pitching until the offense scores three runs so when the offense scores ZERO, the pitching is pretty blameless ultimately.

And this was an ugly zero.  They never got a runner to third.  Did anyone even make it to second?  :|

Yes, there was a two outs, first and second situation.

It still hasn't been three hours since the game started and that seems like years ago.  We were so dead today.

For grins and giggles, Pudge's GIDP after the Morse leadoff single in 2-0 game in the 5th had almost twice the negative effect on win probability as the 3 runs charged to Bally in the 8th (-9.5% v. -5.2%).

You like the Nats more than the Pirates? And why are you not a Penguins fan? Or am I wrong on that?

Of course. The three runs in the 8th were meaningless with the way they "hit" today.
