Maybe Harper will solve that issue in '12..but I don't think my watercolor painting would hold up very well on contact with anything with any velocity.  haha

Neither does ankiel/morse.  But ya work is cheaper than them, so I'm sure ted lerner would love to stick it out there 8)

But yeah great work, I mean it.

Sorry for the delays...juggling multiple projects at one time while working full-time sort of limits the progress.  Anyways, started to add some of the "stronger" shadows and highlights to the painting and wanted to share the updated pic of the painting.  Enjoy!

Sorry for the delays, have to finish the painting for the Dempster Family Foundation & am working on a few other projects for the National Art Museum of Sport's contest.  Still a lot of detailing to do but overall I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Wow, just beautiful. Amazing work, really. Put me down for a print when you finish it, this is turning out even more incredible than I imagined it being when you first started. The amount of effort you have put in this clearly shows. It's also awesome seeing these updates, how the piece has come along through the varying stages. Definitely keep posting pics as you keep going, I think all of us love seeing how it changes from stage to stage.

Again, truly a beautiful work of art you have there. Thanks for sharing.

When I saw the initial drawing update with the uniform I thought, "Aw crap, he screwed it." But, you detailed and changed shades a bit and now it looks SO GOOD. Wow it really looks incredible, great job.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm ready to call it "finished" just yet, but it's very very close to being ready for scanning.  Once it's scanned I'll be sure to post info about prints on here, as I know quite a few of you inquired about prints of this piece once it was finished.

Anyways, thanks for everyone's kind words and support on this painting, I really appreciated it!  So, without further ado...here's the latest pic!

Just wanted to let you guys know...the painting is being scanned and should hopefully be back either later this week or early next week.  Once I have everything back, I'll set up a special pre-order page where everyone can get discounted prices on prints of the Bryce Harper painting.  I'm going to offer a number of different sizes and printing options.  Stretched canvas, poster stock (similar to photo paper), and Somerset Velvet (premium paper for reproducing watercolor artwork).  Anyways, just wanted to give everyone a quick update on where things are.  I may also start a new topic with the link to make sure everyone gets it.  Thanks again to everyone for their feedback, support and compliments, I really appreciate it!  Later,
Jason

P.S. -- The tentative title for the piece is "Bryce & the Fat Chik"...though I'm taking suggestions for anything better.

How long does it typically take you to make a painting like this? It looks awesome.

It really varies from piece to piece, but this one took much longer than normal, as I was waiting to see where Harper was assigned this season.  On average, something of this size will take 1-2 months, from start to finish.
