sure, but we don't have good failed starters ready to step in. We've bounced from high first round pick to over paid veteran to rental while watching the internal options continually come up short
Can't really fault Rizzo for drafting. He does it well. A lot of baseball is struggling with this. Or they have great relievers, but terrible starting pitching.

I'm trying to think of great Rizzo draft picks and can't name many- for someone who does it well, you'd think they're be more examples of him doing it well

He's constructed a team that has the most wins in baseball from 2012 to present. That's fairly impressive.

How do they rank in post season wins?

Failed to sign a proven closer.
Passed on Greg Holland who might be best closer in MLB.
Didn't pull the trigger with the ChiSox...

He drafts a closer today?!?????

Rizzo: quit, please. You are awful.

His failure to find any bullpen help should be a fireable offense.

He will get a contract extension after the draft and see ya later Dusty and Maddux

The people who could fire him are the problem.

Okay with both of those. Dusty can't manage a game and Maddux has done nothing to improve the pitching.

That's my feeling also. Rizzo has messed up the pen but they are likely to end up with someone worse than Rizzo as GM.

I don't know, he tried to get Roberson and Jensen. Melancon got paid way too much and hasn't done anything for the Giants and is also hurt.

Bullpens are just really a volatile position. The Royals were carried by their pen two years ago, now I read somewhere they're down their with us in bullpen effectiveness this year. Ditto the Orioles who've blown leads left and right all year.

Melancon would be the best reliever on this team. While I hate the length of the deal, I'd love to have him in the pen right now.

I feel sorry for Rizzo.  He had deals in place for both Robertson and Holland, only to have the Lerners veto them over money.  He recognized the need and tried to address it.  What's a GM supposed to do if the owner won't pay for the players?!

He can always quit like Riggleman did when he'd had enough of the same Lerner bullcrap.

I love Dusty. He is a great manager. How many of you think if Rizzo's boy Matt "I have no business managing a MLB team" Williams was the manager-he would have had a closer by now-probably by the start of the season?

I can all but guarantee it. It disgusts me. I truly want Rizzo gone.

We can disagree on things, but don't EVER associate me with that POS group that denies Sandy Hook and the innocent children that died in that terrible tragedy. I hope Alex Jones and his minions have a special place in hell.

Do you not remember what this roster looked like before Rizzo?  He's made some mistakes with the BP but lets not sit here and act like he's a bad GM.  This whole idea that he's poor at his job is ridiculous.
