Remember how people say Dunn is a loser for never playing in the playoffs? Was Halladay a loser before today? Is he a loser now? I can't wait until Dunn makes the playoffs and hits 3 HR in a game.

Yep.  I know I'm supposed to hate him because he's on the Phillies but I loved watching him pitch when he was with Toronto, it's nice to see him finally be on a good team.  To me, anyway :)

He would have record breaking stuff (well, more record breaking stuff) if he's been on a winner his whole career. I mean the dude can go 9 innings like its nothing. His control and velocity is just outstanding.

i am so flippin bitter.

baseball is my favorite sport and i spend so much time/money on my team and it's a damn shame they are this bad.  i know i'm a broken record, but this stings.  why can't we have this crap?  why can't we even have a .500 team.  not to say i would be receptive to a .500 club every year.  but this is such bullcrap.  we don't deserve a loser.

If he's finished here, I hope he becomes DH of the Twins and goes apecrap on the Yankees next year.

If ever there was a year that solidified a player as a HOF'er, 2010 would be that year for Roy Halladay.

I think even before that he was pretty much a lock, but I do agree with you that any chance he would be excluded died tonight.

There are 14 other teams that are culpable, not just the Nats.

this assumes he doesn't sign with the Cubs.

I hate the Philly fans, but it's hard not to enjoy watching Oswalt and Halladay do their magic.

If the Twins go deep, there could be snow on that field before all is said and done.  Awesome.  I used to hate them for playing in a dome, but the new house looks rather nice.

Some amazing Halladay stats from Elias:

- 1st pitcher in playoff history to have more hits than he allowed (he went 1-3).

- 1st pitch strike to 25 of 28 batters

- never went 2-0 on anyone

- Don Larson's perfect game came in the 53rd world series.  Halladay's no hitter came in the 53rd year of the NLDS.

I hate that mentality.  It does a disservice to both Halladay and the league to imply that his dominance in any way has something to do with the NL being "bad" or even "worse" than the AL.  It's not like Halladay never put up comparable numbers in the AL.

he noted the fact that Halladay put up astounding numbers pitching in the AL East, but I think his point was that it's a lot easier to pitch against the NL East.

Being a Nats fan = not allowed to recognize a great performance by a great pitcher?

I hate the Phillies too, but Halladay is undeniably a great pitcher.
