Pitchers are extremely expensive. Philly basically mortgaged their future for their current lineup. We don't have a future to mortgage at this point.
Well, no. But that's not the point. I think, going forward, they should stockpile position players in the minors and use them as trade pieces. I'm also not so disillusioned as to believe we can do that this off-season.
Unless a Strasburg comes along, always go with a position player. That's all I'm sayin'.
