Cars Broken Into, Stolen From RFK Lots

Washington Post: Metro Briefs
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Three cars were stolen and 10 were broken into late Monday and early yesterday at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium parking lots, D.C. police said. The thefts come less than a month after several vehicles owned by Nationals players were victims of a similar rash of break-ins and an outfielder's car was stolen.

In the recent incidents, several of the vehicles were owned by staff members of the Nationals and D.C. United, police and stadium officials said. A television photographer's sport-utility vehicle also was stolen, they said.

What the National's need is to have what the O's have at Camden Yards. A lot right by the stadium, blocked off by a high fence. They should have round the clock surveillance with camera's and a few guards. Let's hope the new stadium has better parking lots.

Any bets the Nationals new stadium will now INCLUDE an indoor garage for players and employee vehicles? I wonder if anyone is considering building one inside the parking area. Or maybe build a 15-20 foot wall around a specified area?
