Ok, that's it.  The only thing worse than playing the Phillies at the beginning of the season is playing them at the end.

Can we schedule it so that the entire 18-game season series with the Phillies takes place between May and August?

What would SK do in April?

I don't think making Nats fans happy is real high up on Selig's to do list.

Cubs' Colvin hospitalized after being impaled by bat
September 19, 2010 1:59 PM | No Comments | BREAKING STORY

By Paul Sullivan

MIAMI -- Tyler Colvin is in stable condition at a local hospital after being impaled in his upper left chest by a piece of broken bat during Sunday's game at Sun Life Stadium.

Colvin was scoring from third on Welington Castillo's RBI double when a piece if bat hit him in his chest. He was transported to the Ryder Trauma Unit of Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where X-rays are being taken and the wound is being sutured.

There was no immediate word on the depth of the wound, though it was only a few inches from his heart and could've been much more serious.

The Cubs said there was minimal external bleeding. Colvin may remain in the hospital overnight for tests, and there's a possibility he will be shut down for the season, though it's too soon for any decision

Yep.   Bats are shattering at a higher rate than I can ever remember.   I've been watching 'ball since '56 (or so).

Geez, sign Werth just to get him out of Philly.   He kills us.

Pretty much :)    Actually, my pops liked the Indians and I remember hearing about Rosen, Doby, Feller, Score, etc.   In fact, I think Score got popped by McDougal in '56.

It's all good :)    Man, I remember fallin' in love with baseball.   Playin' Little League (3rd base).   Lovin' Eddie Mathews ...   Arriba, the Great One ... Clemente.   I remember sitting in right field at Forbes .... :)

Lot of good games but this Red Zone is sensory overload for an old fella.   Flippin' back and forth to the Nats makes it worse.

Morse should be batting after Dunn.  Roger Bernadina is giving us nothing at the plate.
