Wang probably will never pitch again, let him go.  Looking forward to seeing how the new guys settle in.

I gave up on Wang when I found out he wasn't going to pitch at all this season I bet the Nats have too.

I hope Harper impresses in the instructional league so he can play in the AFL. I think depending on if he makes it there and kills it...will factor in on whether we will see him up in DC in 2012 or not.

You don't give up on CMW until he calls it quit.

Too much talent to just let that potential walk away. If he comes back healthy, great... if not, so what?

Another year of salary is not going to kill anyone.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Nats have already made more from jersey sales of CMW in Taiwan than they spent on him.

No team will offer him more than a minor league contract with an invitation to ST. He is morally obligated ( IMHO) to take the Nats' offer if they decide to do so. I also think they can cut him so many days prior to the season and only pay him 20 % of the value of the contract. I look to  a Shaun Hill  / J Patterson deal if he doesn't look good.

They'll non-tender him, and he'll re-sign for a reduced rate.

I'm sure it's all been worked out already.

Who knows, some other team may offer him more money to take the risk next year. No player is morally obliged to sign when they are non tendered; the Nats signed him to a contract knowing the risks, if they want to resign him, they can offer him arbitration

I really wish we would stop talking about Wang. There is a 0.01 percent chance of him making the starting rotation by the beginning of next season.

I love Flores. I just don't like the idea of him being a 1B.

I get concerned when someone uses the word "fixed" and Wang in a sentence.

Wouldn't it be cool if CMW got ready in time to pitch against China? :stir:

0-2!  I'm surprised I haven't seen a "harper is a bust" thread yet.

SF lost a bet and the LAC crowd pretends Harper doesn't exist.

Interesting little scouting report from Harper to start the year.

Hitting like a 17 year old would be expected to.

Surprised to hear the good new on Morris. Maybe there's some hope for him yet.

Oh really? The kid has something to learn having his first competitive at bat in five months against a top ten pitching prospect who handled double-A as a 19-year old this year and has two plus offspeed pitches? Teheran is a legit prospect at this point coming off a full season of advanced ball. Harper is 17 and coming off a 5 month layoff from JUCO.

Let's lower our expectations a little, writers. He's not Roy Hobbs.

That's pretty much what the scout said in the report.
