Fangraphs is giving you an average for his fastball.  It does not tell you his max.  His average at 88 could mean he touches 91 when he is on.

Glad you're here.  It sounds to me like you have played a lot of baseball and at high levels.
I'm assuming you're being sarcastic, but in case you're not, I just got into baseball this year :P  But seriously, don't you remember the "Strasburg pitches 103" and "Chapman pitches 105" and "Lincecum touches 100" and even "Detwiler pitches 94" hype?  Scouts (and fans) put too much stock in the high readings on the guns.
Fangraphs is giving you an average for his fastball.  It does not tell you his max.  His average at 88 could mean he touches 91 when he is on.
Of course, he might well touch 91 (maybe 92, though it is doubtful), but they must have been counteracted by pitches closer to 85 for him to average out to 88... either that or he almost exclusively threw his 87-89mph two-seamer (which is possible).  Either way, saying he was a 92 mph pitcher in '02 or '03 is a little disingenuous.

I've been so busy lately. I miss being able to post in here during the game. You guys/gals (except for a few exceptions) are so awesome to talk to.

I hate you too ;)

4 vs. Astros (who dominated the Nats)
Just skimmming the GDT after getting home.

Can't just let this slide.  We weren't dominated by the Astros.  We beat Oswalt 14-4 gave up two leads in the 9th, one of which was that horrendous call on Berkman's check swing.  That's hardly dominant.

Does anyone actually watch replays of generic games like this? Just curious.

If there's nothing else on, I'll watch using MLB.tv on my PS3 or Roku.  But now that I'm trying Hulu Plus on the PS3, I doubt it.  I do, however, always watch the highlights on the MLB At Bat iPhone app for every game.

The Astros were the worst team in the league at the time. It was embarrassing. Plus, we declined since then and the Astros got better.

Not disputing that.  But we were far from dominated.

I never put an actual ban on his account.  He's just very good at owning up when he loses a bet.

On a related note, post-only bans do prevent PMs as well.

Say what you want about his posting style, but the kid mans up every time he has to.

 for sportsfan882.

And just as a test:  RZ is garbage and Adam Dunn rules.
