Not too many women come in to the game thread.
I figured, but I didn't want to sound sexist

Not all moves have to be genius or terrible... some are just organizational, like this one (I can't help but think of Livo as an "organizational arm" at this point, even if he's not in the minors, because he just feels like part of the Nats system).
That could be.

I feel for them, he is undergoing the same surgery as C.M. Wang, and we all know how that's turning out...

I read that he may not be ready for the start of the 2011 season.

I see in 2011 they have to play the White Sox again...why not the Royals or Indians? I know they need to play someone from the central in interleague because the west only has 4 teams, but how do they determine which NL east team gets which AL central opponent? It's better than the Twins I guess.

2011 would be only a 7 month rehab on that surgery? That would be a Miracle.

Bunting with a four run lead is not too smart.

Santana already had the surgery.  Torn anterior capsule is the same injury as Wang and Prior.  Chances of a full recovery are 10-15%.  I can't imagine him pitching next season, any estimate that says he will is overly optimistic.

I hate a position player sacrificing a runner who's already on second, no outs.

This team has lost 6 in a row. They need a win any way they can get it right now.

It's an old baseball adage that will be tough to break.

But, it needs to be.

It's self defeating. You're actually lowering your chances of scoring when you bunt with a position player.

Ignore the odds for a second. The bunt is dumb because this team is out of contention. Ian Desmond should be swinging away so he could get more experience, not wasting his PA bunting.

If the Braves offered McLouth for Harris and Nieves, would you do it?

It's scrub for scrub. I might take it because at least McLouth once had a great season and he's not old. But I don't want him on our team.

Willie Harris should only play when we're facing the Mets

Yes, simply because it would no longer be possible for us to put Nieves on the field.
