Ramos goes yard.

... and to think we could have had a DP with Pudge.

Guzman was one of your favorites. At least no one here sticks up for Nieves. Every other player has someone to defend him.

Well, there was one person...

That's what I get for being at work and trying to pay attention to baseball.

This team can't be a winner if it features Morgan, Pudge, Kennedy, Desmond, Bernadina (as a RF or LF), and Jim Riggleman to go with a bench with of Justin Maxwell, Willie Harris, Kevin Mench, Alberto Gonzalez, and Wil Nieves. Something has to change in Rizzo's mind where he won't accept mediocre position players just because they have veteran intangibles.

That out would have transferred to the next inning.

See, that's where you're wrong.  I almost never felt good about his ABs and I was mostly glad to see him go if only because it (mostly) finished off the bickering about him around here, but he took way more flak than he deserved for the level of play he brought to the field, especially considering the way his peers played.

If you want to argue about "well so and so would've done better if they'd played all the time like they should have while Guz rode pine" but that's all hypothetical and I'm not interested in discussing alternate realities today.  What actually happened is all that matters.

If there was going to be a player to hit into the "mystical double play with two outs" it would be Pudge Rodriguez lol

Most of my problems weren't with Guzman. It was just the fact that he was on the roster that caused the problems. Riggleman had to defer to his veteran. He had to bat #2 every game. That was detrimental. His subtraction was an addition for reasons beyond his control. Now if the team did the same to Pudge, Morgan, Nieves we might finally be respectable.

Not many guys can do that.   That's why he's a future HOF'er.

I'm not impartial of course but I don't really think I have "favorites" so much as I simply stick up for guys who I feel like are getting an undeservedly bum rap.

I guess I just don't understand the mentality that if a guy comes in and gives you a surprisingly decent season that you write him off as a bum just because he faltered at the finish line (likewise not pointing at you Linty, just generalizing)
The opinion of EdStroud is his opinion and not that of the owners and management of the WNFF

I think sometimes posters here like or dislike a player for reasons like; look, name or nationality(silly IMHO).  Most of the players and posters who have gotten hammered here are kind of deserving of it.  Yes some here beat a dead horse but the meat of the WNFF order(not the knuckleheads) is usually accurate in the positive/negative posts.

Well you did create a thread to mock Morse, saying Guzman was deserving of DH'ing.

But otherwise, I do agree.

With one more strikeout, Livo becomes the first Nat to strike out 100 hitters since 2008.

Ouch.

And a win would make him the first double digit winner since Tim Redding

The hype over Morse at the time reminded me of a friend of mine who describes every girl he dates as "the hottest chick ever."  It's hard not to mock something like that.  Doesn't mean I don't like Morse or that I think he's a bad ballplayer.

I don't have any recollection of the Guzman/DH comment but I'm sure it's here somewhere.  I say a lot of stupid crap.  Being serious all the time is much too tedious for me.
