It almost looks like when he dropped his shoulder, he was already standing on the palte when he took out the catcher.

Charlie and Dave say he could have scored if he would have slid.  But he had to be Nyjer Morgan :smh:

Yeah, he would have been safe, easily if he slid.

I want to see a replay, to see if Nyjer touched the plate before a tag.  I don't think he was tagged, and there's no force at home.

But Knight's correct: should have slid.

Had he slid, he was in. The catcher was up when he caught the ball.

Exactly.  Im not pissed because he didn't stay at third.  Im pissed because he tried to take out the catcher instead of sliding.

Doesn't matter.  Call him out for mind numbing stupidity.

So Nyjer would have scored if he slid but ran into the catcher AGAIN instead? DFA, DFA, DFA.

Easily would have scored if he slid.  The throw was high, and no way could Hayes have applied the tag.

That is an automatic loss.  No way we rebound from that trash.

Yeah silver fox saying if he slides he is safe and its a 1-0 game...honestly the smart thing to do was just stay @ 3rd, he was just trying to make a play and its probably going to haunt us.

You like running into the inning ending DP and crushing a catcher because of your own stupidity?  Nyjer should never set foot on the field for the Nat again.
My meaning is that Nyjer hung himself out to dry and decided that he had to make up for it.  If someone is playing hard I'm not gonna complain.  Yes, if he slid he might have been safe and it once again questions his baseball IQ if he was stopped at third.

It's his childishness
He threw his glove on the field when he thought he gave up a homer. Now he's pissed that he's been batting 8th. Normal baseball players don't act like this.

It questions his baseball IQ that he didn't slide to the open part of the plate while the catcher was in the air.

if he slides, he's safe. I would actually like to see the replay again as I question whether there was an actual tag.   Morgan may have been on the plate at the point of contact which was not with thw ball. Never gping to get that call, but it shows how stupid Morgan is for not sliding. Catche wasn't prepared to tag.

If he stays at third, doesn't it turn into a double play at first?

Yeah silver fox saying if he slides he is safe and its a 1-0 game...honestly the smart thing to do was just stay @ 3rd, he was just trying to make a play and its probably going to haunt us.

Tonight's post game interview with Morgan should be a classic.
