(n) has been impressive so far

Tommy John....what? I hope Stephen is watching this

Definitely.  It is also another reason for Nats fans to be less bummed.  Besides losing Stras for a year+, JZ has proved that a pitcher can come back at the same level as he was pre-TJ surgery.

Isn't he going under the knife really soon?  Like this week?

Friday.

TJ is preemptive surgery at this point.  It is a 9-12 month recovery time and 90-95% successful.  Ignore the far too conservative crap that teams say to cover themselves for the 5-10% that don't work out.

At least Dunn swung at that...he's been going down looking a lot lately.

How much have you been drinking tonight?   :koolaid:
It's amazing how winning 4 out of the last 5 while combining to score 40 runs in the process, changes your mindset.
It's also nice to see Dunn out of that nasty slump he was in.

No one has any idea at this point.

There is no sense painting legs on a snake.

If Dunn is asking for something reasonable, it is the organizations fault for not making the deal. If he is asking for something unreasonable and doesn't get it when he tests free agency (because he is not willing to DH) again it will be the organizations fault for not stepping up.

Is it possible he gets some some crazy payday? Sure but that seems less likely.

All of the above involves less speculation than saying he won't be here next year. Granted Nats fans have been kicked around for long enough that I can understand the fatalism.

I can't believe Jayson Stark is already writing his obituary. He sounded like the grim reaper on Mike and Mike this morning.

Agreed.  After years of experiencing the worst, it becomes hard for even the most optimistic fan to expect anything less than the worst.

There are 2 examples of why TJ surgery isn't the end of the world doing battle tonight in FL....

This is awesome... but lets be realistic... there's going to be a lot more bumps in the road for Jordan.

So, don't get too hyped just yet.

Having said that, hot damn! He's dealing tonight!

When Strasburg returns, him and Jordan are going to make up a nasty 1-2 punch

Damn, that was one impressive inning.  5 consecutive strikeouts, just blowing hitters away.  Very very good right now.

I hope he's not on some strict innings limit tonight, looks like he could go pretty deep.

We must've heard two different things because all he really said was that Strasburg could be back by September next season but that realistically he doesn't expect to see him back until 2012. That's hardly writing his obituary. It's just being realistic.

IF he's not the Riggleman, Rizzo and whomever decided to not have a strict inning limit tonight should be shot.

Yes.

I didn't know that. I'm pretty sure Josh Johnson had it though.
