Riggleman (and Acta) have (had) little sense about when to do defensive substitutions.  You have to be able to acknowledge that your team isn't very good and the likelihood that they'll give up two runs in the 9th inning, for example, is not as low as it would be on a good team.  The manager has to almost expect it and be pleasantly surprised when it doesn't happen.

Time for Ramos. I really don't think Pudge knows what he's doing anymore.

The defensive sub at first is just plain stupid.  Dunn plays a much better first than Kennedy anyway.

Yes, that is why LaRussa left Carpenter in and gambled that the Cards could beat the Nats in a 3 inning game.

No more than any hitter steps into a pitch.

Damn it.

I don't blame silly hat. I walked over to the tv and watched that AB and it was just up the middle.

It would have been great if Desmond could have got the DP there somehow.

I'm almost sure saying this game is over now.

I like Allen Craig, I watched him sometimes in NYPL.

Can't wait for the nightly "Boys plays real hard tonight" speech from Riggleman.

This feels like a four game sweep, culminating a winless, seven-game homestand...and TRULY rock bottom.  >:(

I keep saying they're at rock bottom but they keep digging!

I think tomorrow is rock bottom.

Fingers crossed on that one, though.

Hahah, sad but true. :/

It can always be worse with this team.

I don't know why I watch either.  What are the chances we get 2 to tie or 3 to win?

So I'm at the game for the fourth night in a row, and you'd think after Monday this couldn't have gotten any worse. And yet it just keeps going and going and going. This team is trying freaking hard to stay on pace for 100 losses.

Stay hot, Dessie.  When was the last time this team hit a homer?

The chances would be a hell of a lot better with Dunn up.
