PS, though: if a team gets 10 hits in nine innings they should score two or three runs.

Marquis pitched a decent game but still took the loss. haha... when things aren't going well they just aren't but oh well, atleast he had a good outing.

Frustrating game.  We got more hits than Philly but couldn't score.  There were throwing errors and base-running errors.  I guess the only positive was Marquis' showing.  Tomorrow I have to figure out which to watch - Strasburg or the Redskins?  Will probably tape Strasburg.

Huh ?  It's only a pre-season game !

Pre-season NFL over a regular season Nats game -- and a Strasburg start at that?

Wow.

Mathguy - I'm a big Nats' fan and an even bigger Redskins' fan.  Besides Albert Haynesworth might take a break from his headaches, knee problems and bathroom breaks and actually play. :money:

I kept track of this game all night while at the Pnats game.  A really good outing from Marquis and we couldn't put 2 or more runs across!  It shows the Guy CAN pitch.

Not to be a downer, but he still had control issues. Four walks I believe and he was missing so wildly sometimes I figure something is off with his release. I'm surprised he only gave up one run.

That said, he only gave up one run through five. :) Hopefully he can build on this start and gain some confidence.

It feel it was equal to Lannan's start the other night, trading walks for hits.

I was amazed Marquis pitched out of the jams he created.  Hopefully last night's game gives him the confidence he was sorely lacking.
