I'll reiterate that I owe Miguel a cerveza and a guaranteed attendance at one of his poetry readings. Classy dude.

He does poetry readings around D.C.? I'd like to catch one. Do you have any details?

I was just screwing around, sounds like he mostly reads in the locker room, but I'd certainly go if he did.

Great game tonight, lot of fun with the crowd, once they accepted the fact that Stras wasn't going to be the pitcher.

Thank God they were never able to get the wave going!!!

Too bad Lannan wasn't there to put a shaving cream pie in her face

We ask each other Debbi questions at my house all the time: "So how much did you enjoy your delicious pizza?"

I can't believe I missed this game, sounds like an awesome performance by "The Renaissance Man" Miguel Batista  Glad we got the win, I'm looking forward to watching Livo throw another gem tonight.

It's not like Miss Iowa could never be Miss Universe though. There's a huge difference in what Batista said and what Tavarez said.

Tavarez talked about fat chicks and booze.

Batista's reference at least has potential. Three recent Miss Iowa winners.

Either way, it sounds as if skippy found herself another Nationals pitcher to keep her interested in this miserable season.

40K

Fourth time this season the Nats have broken that mark at home (exact total 40,043)...and the escalator leading from the 300 level to the 200-level landing heading for the Left Field Gate was broken when the match ended and everyone had to use the ramps, and Metro, as usual, lost the plot (took me an hour and a half to get home - to south Arlington).

Both Metro and the stadium management are going to have to get it together as far as handling like crowds (you know, when Strasburg is the projected starter, the ticket sales tend to go up...and other circumstances like that)...someday the Nats will be winning regularly and we'll be drawing like this every night - better make sure the facilities are equal to the task.
