Terrapins are a threatened species in many areas, due to pollution primarily. That's why most of Senators pictures are of box turtles, sea turtles, anything but Diamondback Terrapins.

But Mountaineers are completely extinct. They were simply unable to compete with modern technologies or industry, and generally lost the evolutionary race. However, their descendents can be found throughout West Virginia or wherever they have scattered. Here are a couple of the survivors:

WAIT! Is this photo doctored? I think these guys were on the ballot in Montgomery County yesterday. Naw, now I see it. After further review I remember where I've seen these guys. They are related to Ralph Friedgen. Yep.....thats it!

There will be no fear of any turtles. Glad its being played Thursday night, so the fans can drive back to Maryland. The taste of this loss should be gone by the weekend.

There is a two hour delay for the schools in Morgantown.
I think public works needs the morning to get the dead
turtles off the roads. Rumor is tho, that most of the mess
is from Ralphs post-game carry-out.
